I am in awe of the fact that I have a real skill for making my life complicated. I want to let my kids be a part of so many things and participate in the high school experience (the good parts of it..) but it often means I fly around like a crazy, wounded bird trying to get everyone to different activities, etc. But, getting to see how big their smiles are when they are a part of something fun, it makes the chaos I tend to create worth it.
Homecoming weekends are afoot here in Parker, Colorado. Many different high school's homecoming dance fell on this past Friday. It was fun to just snap a few fun pictures of the girls and their group before dinner.
And then early this morning, I got to do a fast senior session for a young man I have known for several years now. I can not believe he's going to be graduating this school year. Time is racing by!

Back to Basics...{Family Photography, Individual Photography, Black and White, Oklahoma Photographer}
Labor Day weekend has forever been a chance for our family to meet up with my husband's brother and his family. We have floated the Platte River for the last 6 years or more. But, this time we thought we'd mix it up and meet at his home in Edmond, OK. We took advantage of all the blessings that come from having a brother-in-law own a boat and live within 20-30 minutes of a variety of lakes.
But, we also put my sister-in-law, Ashley's idea of black and white shots of her babies to work. Here are some of my favorites from our short session. (and yes, they are seriously THE cutest kids...with the exception of my own of course ;))

When babies grow up...{Parker, CO Family Photographer, Senior Photographer, Wedding Photographer}
It's been about 5 years since I set down my photographer's hat for a time. It's been important for me to raise my babies. And though they are not full grown, in fact many are still small - they are all in school. That gives me some time to consider how I would like to spend my extra time. In the 5 years since I've put aside my photography business, I have continued to be creative and work when friends or past clients have asked. I have missed being creative and also interacting with others in a way that is afforded to me because of my desire to photograph others.
All this being said, here I am at the beginning of the school year hoping that I can once again get back on the preverbal horse. So here is a little smattering of some fun sessions I've been able to do!

Sneak Peek for the Browning Family {Parker, CO Family Photographer}
I had such a wonderful time during this session. This super fun family was so laid back and we managed to squeeze in the session on a busy afternoon. They made it an absolute treat for me! Thank you Brownings!

Sneak Peek for the Krause Family {Family Photographer, Castle Pines, CO | Parker, CO | Castle Rock, CO}
This family is something truly special. I am grateful to call them my friends. And they are patient...so so patient with me. Erin & Jason, I hope you enjoy these. I love little F's face in these images. He melts me. Love his scowl as much as his smile.

Sneak Peek for Baby EK : {Newborn Family Photographer, Parker, CO}
I had the privilege of photographing this family's first born as well, and to come into their new home and see one of the photographs I took from that session on the wall right as I came in...words can't express that kind of pleasure. Love it!! I couldn't have enjoyed this session more. I can't tell you how fun it was to hang out with their little boy, the BIG brother :) He is hilarious and has the same fetish for firetrucks that my son does. And Mary and Thad...well, let's just say I would have been happy to hang out and chat the entire time. But, I {thankfully} realized their sweet boy wasn't up for hanging out at the house all day while I took pictures of his precious baby sister. He had a schedule.
And EK, what a gem. She had the best outfits and I'm sure many more are in her future. You can't begrudge a momma for dressing up her first real live baby doll...right? I had four that I got to dress up however I wanted. Granted, sometimes tears were shed (by both of us) as I tried a variety of outfits on them. I think by daughter #4...I was ok with jammies being the outfit choice on most days. That way, we could be twinners :)
I hope you enjoy these images and that they are able to find a place on your walls again.

Sneak Peek for the V Family {Castle Rock, CO Parker, CO Franktown, CO Family Photographer, Children's Photographer}
I can't even begin to share how much I love this family. It's been entirely too long since we were last together. But, I will tell you - this family is worth the wait. The boys are just the very best. Poor littlest J was under the weather and stuck it out anyway. What a kid! And little bigger J was such a hoot. He made me giggle every few minutes. Kari & Joe are the coolest couple! Seriously. Hope you enjoy these guys...here's just a little sneak peek.

Sneak Peek for Rady Family {Westminster, CO Family & Newborn Photographer}
I have such a special place in my heart for this adorable family. I was lucky enough to meet them back in August of 2010 for their engagement pictures. A mutual friend recommended me to them and I couldn't be more thankful. Back in the early part of November they welcomed a beautiful daughter to their family. I was so thankful that they called me to photograph this beautiful girl! Tim & Laura - thank you! Thank you for becoming friends and allowing me to be a part of such an important piece of your lives. Miss R. is such a darling baby girl. I hope to get to see her often as she grows! Enjoy your sneak peek!
