Sneak Peek at a New Year's Eve Wedding Celebration : {Akron, CO & Denver, CO Wedding Photographer}

If you remember New Years Eve and the weather...you will smile to yourself when imagining how graciously this now newly wed couple pulled off their wedding! Picture a small town with close ties between neighbors. I think this is a pretty good description of Akron, CO. I had never been here before, but Tianna assured me, if I blinked - I might miss it. Had the wind not been blowing upwards of what I would guess to be 50-60 mph, I would have died to tour the town and take our time outside nailing all the great shots we wanted to get in cool locations. Be the weather as it was, this was not really an option. When I arrived at the wedding, I nearly got my heavy door thrown back into my body courtesy of the wind. I made it into the church with Kelsey (my business partner/second shooter) without anything too embarrassing happening. We got some shots of Justin & the men in their duds for the day. We even attempted braving the outdoors...yeah, that didn't last long.

Then, it was off to Tianna's sister's home which was nearby. By this point, the snow was whipping around in the wind too. It was awesome!! (I'm being partly facetious, but it was actually kind of pretty too) Tianna and all her ladies in waiting were nearly ready so we got some fun shots of them...my favorites are the ones with the bags over their hair so as not to allow the wind to muss them! Dang it all if we weren't trying to hurry and I nailed a nice, slightly blurry one...but it's for the memories, right?

Then, back to the church to squeak in a handful of shots before guests began to arrive. Justin was put into quarantine and not allowed to see Tianna before she made her way down the aisle. I think he would definitely agree that it was worth the wait.

And then, the real beautiful part began. The wedding ceremony. Did I mention, at this point all the power in the chapel went out. You know what...it didn't matter. It was something to see as Justin didn't take his eyes from Tianna as she made her way down the aisle on her daddy's arm. You could tell her daddy was definitely proud too. I'm going to stop writing, but there is one shot in here that I realize might not be the most technically correct image, but it is my very favorite. When I saw it on my card after the wedding and realized what it was - despite how dark the image initially was I knew it was a keeper. Talk about a beautiful, quiet moment of intense emotion. I'll let you guess which one it is. Enjoy the love story as it unfolds...

Justin & Tianna - I had such a fun time with you guys. It was such a pleasure to be able to be a part of your wedding, not only as the photographer...but as a guest. You are a beautiful couple with huge things ahead of you and I hope you continue to let me be a part of the adventure from time to time! Congratulations!

Beautiful Birthday Boy's Sneak Peek {Parker, CO Children's Photographer}

This beautiful little boy is such a fun one to work with. First of all, I love his family - they are gracious people who I am always excited to hear from. Not only that, but they let me come into their home and enjoy the comfort of their hospitality. Mr. E had just barely turned one and we managed to squish in this birthday bash session for him before the new year! So, obviously - this sneak peek isn't much a sneak for his family since they have already seen it...but, for all of you who may have wanted a chance...

Mr. E's momma found the banner on Etsy along with his cute tie onesie & leg warmer duo AND the adorable hat, bowtie & bloomer set! I think she did great!

I love his precious profile.

New Year's Resolution and a Challenge

I've known and loved my sweet husband now for almost 13 years now. He makes me a better person each and every day through his example, his character and his love. I doubt I will ever repay the gift my Father in Heaven gave me when He brought this man into my life. One of the many things I love about Tim is that he is SUPER goal oriented...even if he doesn't write New Years Resolutions every year...he does write down his goals OFTEN and then proceeds to make them a reality. He helped me realize one of my great goals in life when he encouraged and supported me when I began this business 8+ years ago. It has been a labor of love at times and has definitely pulled our family many different directions in the course of its successes and failures. I am so thankful to have a job that allows me to be a mother & wife first and foremost. And then to allow me a real sense of ownership in my creativity.

So, all that said - in honor of my rock in life (Tim) I am setting out to accomplish my goals in 2012 and I'm posting them on here so that I am held accountable. Some are small goals, some are mountains for me. But, each goal is something I hope to have accomplished within this year. You are welcome to join me and post your comments/links as to what your goals for 2012 are. So, here goes.

1. Drink 64 oz. of water every day (I love my diet Coke/Pepsi's and learning to turn to water instead is going to be a real struggle for me...but I want this!)

2. Be a part of & participate in a 52 Week Photography Project

3. Read my children a book as a family...whether it's a longer chapter book or children's illustrated book doesn't matter...at least 4 nights a week.

4. Plan & cook healthy, good meals for my family for dinner 5 nights a week at least.

5. Write in my journal 5 nights a week.

6. Scripture Study DAILY...this is a hard one for me. I love reading but I struggle not to put other good reads in front of this.

7. Read 50 books in 2012

8. Bake homemade bread weekly with my kids help. (I'm going to USE my Christmas gifts!!)

9. Continue to better learn my craft. (Just so you know, I am CONSTANTLY learning. I feel grateful to still be a student of photography. I truly believe if you think you know it all, you become stagnant in what you do.)

10. Continue to see clients from past session return for future sessions. (It doesn't get much better than knowing that you did your job well enough the first time so much so that you have clients/friends ask you to do it again!)

11. Book sessions with clients who saw my work and wanted in on the action!

12. Book sessions that are REFERRALS of past clients ( this is where you come in my friends! Please continue to refer friends or family my direction. And don't forget there is an incentive! )

13. In order to really accomplish #11, I need to keep this blog up to date with sneak peeks as well as a few other surprises I have up my sleeve.

14. Collaborate with some other great local photographers & work together to begin creating even more greatness here in the southeast corner of Colorado!

15. Continue to have dance parties with any of my cuties that come into my office without hesitation!

16. Earn my new camera body. I'm doing it!

This family has such a special place in my heart! I have been lucky enough to have called their mom, Mandi, one of my closest friends for the past 5 years. I am blessed to know this family. Our kids love each other and she is an amazing pianist who has taken on the task of teaching my girls piano as well. Tom is also one amazing guy! He has such a funny sense of humor and is as easy going as can be. We love our Tommy-Bear :) Well, I have officially embarrassed this family enough! Love you guys tremendously!

Better late than never...this is for sweet Sam & Tami. I hope these images can keep you satiated until the entire gallery is available for viewing! I adore this beautiful family. Not only are they a stunning group, but I have to say that they are some of the kindest individuals you will ever find. And they have laughs that are contagious. I am so grateful to this family because they found me a new favorite location - who knew Elizabeth could be such a great location!

We had a really fun time! At least, I did :) The Ure's oldest daughter, Samantha, has been called to serve an 18 month mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enters the Missionary Training Center at the end of this month. I am truly grateful to have been able to get some of these images together for this family before she heads out to serve. Sam - you are amazing! I can't wait to have you come back and an assistant for me! Enjoy these images!

This last group of images may need a slight explanation. There was a little old outhouse where we were shooting. I had this nutty idea of how funny it would be to have Jim pretend to be pulling on it trying to get in. Well, first of all, I was surprised he was up for it...see, Tami he really did listen to EVERY suggestion I gave :) Not only did he do a great job with the acting but the door really did open up. Surprise! The second image, sweet Haley was very curious about the root cellar in this old store. Come to find out, you could climb right in, down the steps and into the basement...creepy! Well, not for Haley.

Finding what works for YOU on the day of your session!

So, I have been asked and I have read many opinions on what the do's and don'ts are for portrait photography with a family session. I am attaching several images that I have had fun finding all over Pinterest. These are all over the place, so have fun hunting :)

CLOTHING
Make it fit your style first. If you aren't a person who enjoys bold, bright colors...don't feel like you have to. These pictures are for you and for your walls. That being said, also consider colors in your home. You don't want to clash with the colors that are predominantly found in your home. I'm not asking you to match the sofa either though. Find a balance.

If I had my druthers, I would say - add some pop or pizazz. Add a scarf that is a fun color. Add a hat to your boys. Add a bow tie or two. Throw on some glitzy shoes. The idea here is to add something to catch the eye and keep it there. Another great tip is to add layers to everyone. This gives the illusion of multiple wardrobe changes.

MOM TIP
If you are want to look slimmer in these shots, on color head to toe produces a slimming effect as it creates a long line from tip to toe. A good color may be blue or brown. Avoid wearing lighter colors on the bottom as the eye tends to be drawn to seeing lighter things first, which then draws attention to the hips.

COLORS AND PATTERNS
Sadly, in the past, people were always shied away from bold colors and patterns. This is a shame because when done right - this can add such a fun visual effect to the images. You just want to remember balance. If you have someone in bold colors or patterns, let others in the image use some of the same kinds of tonal colors but with a little less flair :) Usually the boys are the best to kind of bring the images back to balance.

STANDING NO NO'S
No logos (by this I mean big words written across your clothing as you basically sell their advertising for them without seeing any of it returned to you :)). The Lacoste alligator/crocodile - fine. You pretty much have seen the clothes I'm talking about. Wearing the words "PINK" across your tush probably isn't going to add much to your wall decor.

Avoid haircuts the day of or the day before if you can help it. Letting them grow in and for you to figure out just how you like it styled ends up making for better images.

HAVE FUN
These sessions are meant to be fun. Learn to laugh at yourself, your kids, your spouse - even (and usually especially) when they do those things that you think will RUIN your session> I promise you, I take tons of pictures and the moments when you feel like your family is acting like monkey's in a zoo are quickly over. Enjoy the adventure that is what taking family portraits is all about!

Let me start by saying, this is one very sweet family! My husband is lucky enough to work with both the parents. And he and I have been guests in their beautiful home on a number of occasions. Not only are they the most gracious of hosts, but they are incredibly fun people with a great group of kids in their family! Miss M & Miss K - such stinking cuties. And then their baby sister who just turned one not long ago, Miss E...what a doll! She wasn't about to smile for me though. She's reserving that cuteness for another session, I'm sure!

We were lucky enough to have a great location right in their own back yard! The fall leaves were changing with perfect timing. The weather couldn't have been more beautiful. All in all - it was an absolute perfect session! Lindsay & Monty, thank you again for letting me come to your home and share your day with you for a little while. All your girls are amazing! So, I have known this family since we moved to Parker a little over 5 years ago now. They are wonderful. Their son has been in the same grade as my oldest daughter for forever and often in the same class. And now, my son is in the same kindergarten class as their cutie pie daughter. Dad is an amazing architectural designer. I don't know if that is his official title, but we had our basement finished last December and he came up with the amazing layout of the entire thing...all 20+ can lights and all! He threw out ideas that we never would have thought of, but are so grateful to have in our layout now.

Anyway, enough about our histories together. Needless to say, I love this crew! So, here are just a select few of some precious images we took of them last week! Enjoy my friends.

Sneak Peek for Miss E & Miss A {Parker, CO Children and Family Photographer}

Miss A is looking to get into the children's modeling business and wanted to get some fun shots for a portfolio. I was all to happy to help. I suggested to Miss A's momma that if she would like, to bring along her big sister so we could get special images of the two sisters together. I didn't realize at the time that another beautiful young lady graced their home...this one only about to turn one though. This was such a fun little session. I have to thank their momma again for being so patient. These past two weeks I have spent with hit or miss cell phone coverage. It isn't because of the carrier but the phone. 99% of the time I could hear the other end of a telephone conversation, but the other party either heard pure silence or ear piercing static. Either way, it didn't make phone calls an option for me for about 2 weeks. Of course, in the middle of this mess I had this special session scheduled. I got stuck and was running behind. I raced as fast as I could, but they still had to wait for me. I felt horrible, but Ms Momma was all kindness...so thank you again!

We had such fun with these two! Miss A shows such a flair for personality and Miss E is a picture of such sweetness. It was hard not to want to squish them both in bear hugs when I was leaving. I truly hope I get the opportunity to photograph this pair again...perhaps next time with the entire family, or at least littlest Miss I.

This little princess I have had the privilege of photographing since before she took her first breath! I have had so much fun with Miss L. and her momma & daddy. I am always grateful for clients who become friends! We managed to squish in some on location shots in their home as well as heading over to Cottonwood Park and taking advantage of the pretty colors over there.

Miss L.'s momma has also started a business of her own recently. She made the beautiful tutu, the glitzy shoes and the barrett that Miss L. was donning during her session. This beautiful baby was a gift in so many senses of the word. This precious gift from heaven was also a gift because of the blessing of adoption. My amazing friends were chosen, truly hand picked not only by God in Heaven, but also by two very giving individuals who saw that my friends would be the most perfect of parents for this precious baby boy. I couldn't have been more excited, happy and in awe than I was when I got lucky enough to photograph this little one ~ who on the day of the session was barely 3 days young! He was squishy and wrinkly and slept like a little lamb. I felt so blessed to have been able to spend time with them. Here are just a FEW of my very favorites. Plenty more waiting to be seen. I have been lucky enough to have had the chance to photographer Austen for a few years now. This young man has grown MILES in the times that I have been able to photograph him. He has such a great personality and is an easy subject. It doesn't hurt that I love hanging out with his mom too! It's an all around fun time when we are all together. This time we mixed it up and took off for downtown Castle Rock. It turned out to be a great idea! We found some new areas that I hope to use often!

This beautiful family has connections to my new business partner, Kelsey. They knew each other not too long ago, but man what a few years can do! Kids are born and grown before you knew it was coming. This group was super fun as it included sisters, mom, & grandma along with a small gaggle of kiddos. We went to Garden of the Gods to enjoy the views and the unmistakably "Colorado"-ness of the area. Those gigantic red rocks jutting out of the ground are breath taking...I would imagine that would be true for the rock climbers we watched scale the precarious sides of these rocks too. Crazy fellows.Anyway, we had a great time with everyone and hope they did too. I love the personality that comes through in these images and I love that the momma's of these little ones appreciate the fact that smiles are not the only presentable faces that can be worn. Enjoy!

Little did I know when I saw this stunning young woman walking down the street in downtown Parker that she was actually the senior I was to be taking portraits of that day. I really did see her from across the street and thought, 'wow - she is one beautifully striking woman.' Yeah, she's also very funny, laid back and extremely kind. Her dad was in tow and I had a great time hanging out with the two of them for a little while. With an ENTIRE SUITCASE packed with clothing options and plenty of heels, this girl was ready to roll! It was a super fun shoot with WAY too many great shots. But, here are a few of my favorites.

Did I mention, we stopped at Nomelie's Cupcakes while we were shooting and I EVEN GOT ONE! Thank you again Chris for the delectable treat!

She's a stellar athlete to boot! What else would you do with those LONG legs anyway? :)

Newborn Baby Evelyn {Colorado & Utah Newborn Photographer}

This beautiful little girl also happens to be my niece and I am so enamored by this little one. Her daddy is an F-16 pilot for the United States Air force and we had fun incorporating that into the session. This is a collage I put together as a gift to my sweet sister & brother-in-law and I couldn't post it earlier or I would have ruined the surprise that came in their mail not too many days ago. But, now it's your chance to enjoy how cute and squishy this beautiful little girl is. I love you baby Evelyn!

A Few Sneak Peeks! Craig & Jessica and Tianna & Justin

I have been able to really enjoy my last few sessions. Two engagement sessions and I absolutely loved both of them! For the first, we headed over to Castle Rock area and had a great time exploring. Craig and Jessica are a stunning couple visually, but they are some of the kindest individuals too. I was having the best time with them. Here is just a small sampling of their session.

Later that evening I ran around downtown Denver with Tianna & Justin. Tianna works with my husband and so I've known her on a very casual level - but never really gotten a chance to hang out with her. Tianna is a sweetheart! And so is her fiance, Justin. The two of them have been together since high school. They were troopers as we even managed to endure a nasty downpour of rain - and still they kept on smiling!

This session was so incredibly fun! I can't say enough about how great these two are! We ran from Red Rocks in Morrison, CO to Union Station in downtown Denver. I am always impressed by how well dressed and coordinated people can be! Seriously, I try to think through wardrobe outfits and make great choices throughout the day and yet NOT ONCE have I ever put together outfits as cute as these! Erin is a true diva, in a good way! Wade held his own too! He is an impressive guy - they make an amazing couple!

Sneak Peek for Six 13 Year Old Divas {Children Photographer, Parker, CO}

Talk about a cool mom - Mrs. O (as my own girls call her) is Miss D's momma and for her 13th birthday Mrs. O. hired us to photograph her daughters' special day. Miss D & five of her best gal pals met up after school, got to pick out new white shirts (all unique) and a new pair of flip flops (all unique) and head over to the nail salon to get mani's and pedi's. This is where we (my new business partner, Kelsey Hansen, is the other half of 'we') come in. As requested by Mr. & Mrs. O. - we come in needing models for a special photo shoot we are holding in the Parker area. Yep, did we mention that now on our resume we have done covers for Teen Magazine as well as a couple photo sessions with Justin Bieber (again ~ my girls would be so thrilled if this were true!)?!

So, on with the show. We do a bit of journalistic photography in the salon and move it on out to the streets of Parker. We had a great time! Thanks girlies for being so cute!

I am lucky to have met this wonderful family and even more so because we have several sessions scheduled together. This is Miss L's 6 month session - and let me tell you this beautiful girl has grown up so much already. She is like a real little person. It's funny how you can really start to see who they are and get a feel for their personality. This girl is a firecracker! I love being around her. She is 99% of the time all smiles. The few times she cries, her mom or dad are there to rescue the situation - a special ladybug seems to do the trick much of the time. Anyway, this is just some of the fun we had!

What a treat to meet Kari & Joe's family! I loved spending the morning today with them. They are a great couple with some beautiful children. I had so much fun with Big J. and Little J. Sneak Peek - Princess P (Forgive me for my absence!)~ Stapleton Family Photography, Newborn Photographer

I realize it's been ages since I've last posted. I have been busy...photography being one of the things that has been a big thing on my plate. But, I also had our fifth baby! That's right, F-i-V-E! Our sweetheart is nearly a month old now and I'm back on the bandwagon and trying to get back to speed with everything. It's difficult but I'm having fun!

I most recently was able to do a photo session for one of my clients, who has since become a dear friend, as we have now been working together for over 3 years! I love having these connections! I am blessed to have this job!

Her beautiful baby girl was born now long after my peanut came along. Little Princess P is absolutely gorgeous. She is tiny by all standards, but because my kids never seems to gain any weight, she seemed so big to me. Every feature of hers was perfection. Her skin color just glowed and I loved being able to spend this time with my sweet friend and her family! So, Angela & Trey - enjoy a very brief Sneak Peek of Precious Princess P.

I love this kid! This is my second time having the opportunity to photograph his charismatic face :) He's a charmer and he's GROWN! (You may remember these images from his past shoot HERE) I didn't realize how quickly time could fly until I saw the little boy turned young man right before my eyes. My first shoot with him featured this adorable little brown eyed boy with chubby cheeks and a quick grin. This time, that boy sprouted legs and less cheeks. Still quick to smile, or grimace, or be serious, or pouty (I tell you - the kid is talented!) we had a blast! From trains, to leaves, to trees, to splinters and much more - Mr. A. put up with a lot from me. He is truly a professional!

Long story short, I had a wonderful time with you and your mom! I am anxious to get a chance to do another session with you! Enjoy the sneak peek!

This was such a fun shoot! Anmarie and Lee are genuinely wonderful people who I get the privilege of looking forward to working with repeatedly over the next year or so. It was so funny because their neighbors got such a kick out of watching the shoot take place. Looking over and through fences, I think we had every neighborhood kid within a 50 mile radius checking out what we were up to. And then we got a couple of their parents in on the action too. It was hard not to giggle through the entire shoot! Not long after these pictures were taken, I got an email telling me their brand new baby girl had graced the world with her beautiful presence. I actually just took her pictures yesterday! It's fun to look back at these images and realize how very quickly life can do a 180 on you and change your life forever. Often times, it can change it in the best way possible!

I know these are late coming, but I hope you understand the wait. I was trying to finish editing everything so that I could give them to you earlier :) There is always a master plan in all of this. That being said, I have had the opportunity to take some really fun shots of some beautiful baby girls lately. Castlewood Canyon State Park turned out to be the ideal location for the wedding tonight of Susan L. & Ryan H. I had such a great time with these two and their family. I really felt like I was given a special gift in getting to be part of such an intimate wedding and 'reception'. Just parents of the bride and groom were there. The judge who officiated, obviously was there...and me!

So, I'm posting some of my very favorites from today on here asap for the bride and groom to enjoy. Susan and Ryan - congratulations!! Everything turned out so beautifully and I hope these images can encapsulate some of that!

I had so much fun with this family! I can't tell you what a relief it is to hear from parents that they understand that their probably won't be many shots of EVERYONE looking to perfection and that they are okay with it because it's the phase of life they are in. Sometimes its a hard thing to do to convince parents that it's okay if your child isn't smiling just so and looking to the 9s, like they did when you first came. It's okay because I promise you this - I'll get it right, even if we need to do again. I am happy to come back or whatever. We will make it so you are satisfied! Despite the words of encouragement that they understood if it all didn't turn out - I think this beautiful family sees that they truly wow-ed the camera! Thank you for such a great time. These girls were such troopers. Locations are not always the easiest to get to and even in their gorgeous dresses and perfectly coiffed hair they managed to get to the various locations I hoped to shoot in. Camie and Nick, despite Nick's serious face, I found myself laughing constantly, blathering on with only minimal intakes of air, and thoroughly and completely enjoying myself. These two are truly wonderful individuals. I would have happily hung out with them for hours, and I did drag my feet a little to make the time stretch...just a little. No, honestly I really had a wonderful time. Camie had a great eye for picking locations. The backside to Chatfield is gorgeous. She picked this amazing open field full of tall, tall grass with beautiful, white barked trees to play among as well. I was proud of myself for having picked it without her mentioning it. Nick, you are a stud - the GQ look definitely suits you, but I loved seeing your smile when you laughed, even if I wasn't quick enough on my trigger finger to catch it....this time. But, next time don't be so sure! Enjoy the sneak peek my friends!

{just a quick note: notice Nick's strategic placement when it comes to "tossing the leaves into the air". Camie, all innocently throws them high to the sky while Nick, on the other, makes a line drive of leaves aimed straight for Camie's face. You've gotta love boys.}

Flower Me Pretty by Amy Almeida - This was a great photo shoot downtown at Union Station. Amy sells these beautiful bows and has recently gotten really involved in this business. She asked if we could do a shoot to highlight the bows - I think the bows are gorgeous and the images captured how many ways you can use these with a variety of outfits and hairstyles. Such a fun day. The girls were wonderful and were helping pick where to take different shots and what poses they wanted to do...so stinkin' cute!

Brandon & Jeri! {Denver, CO Wedding Photographer}

There are those times in your life that you are so truly thankful for two people lucky enough to have found each other! Today I witnessed the joining of two such people in marriage. Jeri and Brandon are such a beautiful couple to begin with, but more than that ~ I was beyond impressed by the sheer magnitude that each of them saw this day meaning for them. It wasn't that the details of the day didn't matter...of course they did. They always do. But, more than that - they grasp what the day was really about. It was about the dress, the flowers, the hair, the hall, the reception, the pictures...nothing more than the joining of the two of them as man and wife to love and look out for each other above all else. I felt so lucky to have been a part of their day!

Being now 32 weeks pregnant, it's hard to hide the obviousness of my situation. I am pretty good at keeping up with my typical schedule, but it doesn't hurt that others are so willing to look out for your best interest. I had such an incredible time with this BEAUTIFUL family! Let's just say, it's been a long time dream of mine to have red hair or have kids that have red hair...i'm not picky. But, seriously this family had such a unique beauty to them - it was easy to take great pictures! Julie called me today to make sure "something" came out...well, let me just say I hope you think these are "something" worth hanging onto. I LOVE this family! Can I just say that? You may recognize their last shoot with me while Angela was beautiful and pregnant. I love that we booked a maternity package together so that we could hang out several different times over the following year! Their bundle of joy was born at EXACTLY midnight on the 2nd of October, making him a whole 7 days old when I took his pictures! Talk about a sweet, tiny, BRAND SPANKING NEW baby boy!

What a fun day this was. Despite the sprinkles of rain, Miss S was absolutely a trooper. Her parents even brought along their 6 month old puppy B.L. - that is one cute dog. I love this family...why you ask? Well, they are my friends - my kids are friends with their adorable kids! Plus, they are sweethearts and are an absolute joy to be around. Mandi is my good friend and I could easily spend hours on end just hanging out with her. I got to do just that last week. We took pictures for her brand new son, Littlest Mr. J and also her other little boy Mr. K. Here are some of my favorites of the two baby boys...

i2 Roadtrip to Boulder with James Christianson {Portrait Photograher, Boulder, CO}

James and I are good friends...well, given that we only get to hang out at photography stuff. But, he's such a great guy and was the guest speaker for i2 - this photographers group that hosts various speakers, deals with different issues that photographers face and manages to host model shoots where you can come and learn and get hands on "training" while shooting away at beautiful models who come to work! I finally managed to go and let's just say - it was a blast. My other good friend, Todd VanFleet was there too. It couldn't have been more fun having these two around. Plus I then got to rub elbows with other great photographers around Colorado and get to know them as well!

I got stuck in DNC traffic on the way there but got to get right to work taking photographs of the different couples (brides & grooms, just brides, and other couples that were dressed to the hilt - but not in wedding attire) It was incredible. Here are just SOME of my favorite shots of Sadie. She is the model I spent the most time with. You will see why when you look at the images she helps produce!

Sneak Peak for Mary & Aaron!! {Wedding Photographer, Dallas, Texas}

What an incredible trip this was for me! Less than 24 hours away from home...I left for Dallas in the evening on Friday and got back by 7:30 pm on Saturday. Mary & Aaron had a beautiful, intimate, family/kid-friendly wedding in the club house for Mary's condo. Talk about a nice club house. It was beautiful. Mary's daughter's along with her nieces and nephews surrounded she and Aaron as they took their vows. The rest of the family and friends circled around close by. I tried to be a fly on the wall, but ended up squatting in front of the crowd or pouncing on the couch just behind them to get in close for the shots. But, I love this family! They never seem to stress much and are always accommodating.

So, I'm only posting two of my favorites right now. I feel like I have overwhelmed the Smith family crew with so many images. But, anyway - these are my two favorites of the day I think. They are just fun! Mary & Aaron - thank you for such an incredible time. I LOVED being with you and your family! Your pictures will be ready for viewing VERY soon!

Mr. G & family Sneak Peak! {Children Photographer, Englewood, CO}

What a fun day we had at the park. This beautiful family is so kind to me. Being completely directionally impaired and even though you should recognize this beautiful blue-eyed boys face because I HAVE been to his home before - you wouldn't think so by my ability to get lost on the way there. But, with big blue balloons in tow, I believe all was forgiven :)

I have a ton of editing to do. I took off almost right after their shoot to get packed up for a less than 24 hour trip to Dallas to do the wedding pictures for Mary and Aaron (whose engagement and family pictures you can see in the earlier post). What a whirlwind weekend it was. So, with plenty of editing ahead of me, it is time to put my nose to the grindstone and get busy.

But, because I couldn't pass up editing this image and getting it on here - here is just a small sampling of what you can look forward to seeing from Mr. G. Happy birthday pal! Hope it was a spectacular day - you've earned it!

Tom & Jenna's Album {Wedding Photographer, Milwaukee, WI}

Tom & Jenna - I hope you enjoy the layout of the album. I think it really flows well. One thing to note, if you see extra black on the edges that doesn't seem to "fit" with the layout - it's just the access space they require we send so that the binder has available space to trim the edges. Also, so the album layout goes images 1, then images 2&3 go together, 4&5 together, and so on. There are also a couple double page layouts in there. So, enjoy!

Sneak Peek at Jeri & Brandon at Red Rocks {Engagement Photographer, Morrison, CO}

I had the best time with these two. We literally laughed most of the time we were together. We got there early to beat the heat. Apparently, we timed it perfectly to exercise with the greater part of the Morrison, CO community. These people were intense. I was amazed at the exercises they were doing - up and down all those stairs, doing push up with their heads facing the bottom of the ampitheater, aerobics classes on the steps...it was crazy! Jeri, Brandon and I took it easier but it was still tough to take all those stairs. Poor Brandon was in long sleeves. But, he and Jeri were such good sports despite the heat.

Red Rocks is such a beautiful location to shoot at. I have to say, I bet the fall is a great time to take pictures there and to avoid the heat. Either way though, this past weekend was so much fun. Thanks for the great time Jeri & Brandon. I can't wait until November 1st when you get to say "I do!"

H. Family Portraits - Sneak Peek

This is unfortunately a week or more overdue. I wish I could have gotten these finished more quickly. My family and I took a short vacation to Pagosa Springs (and had a blast!) but that delayed my editing being wrapped up. Needless to say, this family is beautiful. They are good friends of mind and I am so thankful they let me capture some very special moments in their life.

My best friend Cassidy joined me on the shoot. She and I were the original duo of Brittann Photography back when it started on November 1, 2003. Wow how the years have flown by. I am shocked that so much has changed. She now has her own company called Captures by Cassidy and is doing fantastically well on that front. But, it was so fun having her as a second shooter with the H. family. She did her world famous Angry Gorilla - yes, you will have to ask her to show it to you if you ever have the privilege of hiring her to take your family's photo. It works really well on making kids laugh...big kids too. I love to embarrass her with it - yes, that is the kind of good friend I am.

Well, enjoy the images. I had a hard time just picking a few...so, I narrowed it down to...well, a lot of them. I guess that wouldn't be considered narrowing then, would it? :) Thanks again H. family! I loved every minute of it.
