I had such a fun time today with Kirsten and Krystel T. They were so great. We wandered around Southlands Mall, mingling with the passerbys...sort of. They stared, we shot shots. There were a couple of hoods that found us humorous but none of us seemed to have to difficult a time enjoying ourselves regardless. Here are just a couple shots - quick edits. More later on! Thanks girls - I loved every minute! Hope I spelled your names right girls. There will be more pictures to come. Sorry to keep you waiting today though :)

Editing delay

Can I just say that every time I want to start a project one thing after another comes up. My beautiful children (things 1 through 3) sure are good at keeping me busy. Thing 1 nearly started a minor fire in our kitchen today when she was playing with Thing 3 rolling him around in his high chair. She somehow managed to turn on the gas for one of the burners on the stove...no idea how. Scared me to death. And I wasn't even on the computer...I was in the other room vaccuming (Tim's parent's are coming in town to watch his brother's kids (they live just down the road)). Anyway, aside from that little mishap...then I am asked to arrate (sp??) the lawn before today's big snow storm. The problem is that it requires me to rake the entire front yard (we have no grass in the back thank heavens). So, I finish that minor project (my shoulders are now KILLING me) and then sweetheart calls from work and asks if I'll also mind fertilizing the yard...sure thing. I don't mind doing things like this, but it certainly does a number on my ability to get any work done.
Here are some fun pictures I've been editing and will eventually put in my album (which I need to finish ASAP!)

PUGS!!!
Nope, not the adorable dogs that I would actually consider owning simply because of their squished face and ridiculous sounding breathing style...no, this was a Pictage Users Group meeting and it was awesome! Okay, so for the longest time I have wanted to find a way to meet photographers around the area and get to know them, to establish some kind of relationship so that we could communicate without making me look like a stalker. Being able to ask questions and share information is priceless in this business and with leaders like Becker and Jasmine Star setting the trend of being willing to share what they know and have learned with others, how can photographers not want to join in this circle of sharing? (sound like kindergarden...that circle of sharing bit) Anyway, I went to the PUG meeting last night at Blake Street Tavern and was a bit apprehensive of how I would be received, if it would already be a tight knit group or what...but, I was really pleasantly surprised to run into so many great people...and photographers.
Some I met were Amanda Tipton, James Christianson, Tori Thorp, Katie Van Buren, Travis Broxton, Melissa Rich, and Alison Williams. What a pleasure to meet each of these individuals. I sincerely look forward to getting to know and work with them in the future!

Fun images from a bit before

I found this rusted out "airplane" - my nieces were convinced it was a plane wreck left in this park...I honestly don't know. But, I enjoyed the shots it lent itself to.
Other exciting and FABULOUS news! My wonderful husband who I adore is going to be a more permanent fixture in Brittann Photography. I am thrilled. He is so business minded but I know he's also very capable of being creative. So, I'm anxious to sit down and hash out the details of our new "relationship"! I am truly a lucky woman to have this hotty as my husband and soon to be business partner.

New Products!
I found this site via another photographer's blog, Pinkle Toes. The photographer focuses more on kids photographs. Anyway, she had a reference to these amazingly cute wallet albums. Super cute. Anyway, I found the site she must order them from- looks great! It's called Perfect Distributing. The albums are really cute. Check them out.
I'm so excited! I purchased my new website from Blu Domain yesterday and I'm now just waiting for them to hand over the reigns to me. It will be a big task getting everything up and running the way I want it to. (Side note, it's almost 10 am out here and my 2nd is still fast asleep - why does this happen on the day that we need to get to preschool? Guess no preschool today:)) Anyway, still a lot to get done. Here's a shot of all the frames I bought the other day to prepare for the photography fair coming up on the 25th...yikes. That's an easy way to blow through more than $200. If anyone has a suggestion of how I can buy frames, mats, etc. by spending a bit less...I'm all ears! I also went to Hobby Lobby and purchased one of their huge frames and will be buying the glass and mat seperately...still adds up to almost $70 for all that...who knew making things presentable could be so dang expensive.
and of course there's clothes from Walmart for the kids (on clearance of course) and Sparkling Grape Juice for Tim and I to enjoy on Easter...didn't quite manage to get to that point unfortunately. Would have been nice, but we were so crazy on Sunday that the day seemed to slip away without much help from us :)

Woa - talk about enormous pictures!
jeez...I didn't realize how HUGE you could put imagese online. Well, here's my tip of the day! Go check out Flickr. You can upload an image and then click on it after its in and above it you can choose how enormous of an image you would like...example...see below!
Anyway, I was just checking my comments (LOVE IT WHEN PEOPLE ACTUALLY LEAVE SOME!) and someone left a message all the way from Istambul (did I even spell that right?) Is that insane!! I love the power of technology!
Okay, enough for today.

Information coming out my ears!
Okay, I have to just express some serious disappointment. Here it is. I am so ANNOYED with All American Photo. I am not one to typically complain. But, after literally 7 really big screw ups on their end (and with no mention of compensation) I'm through with them. Seriously. What a waste. They have failed to ship 4 different orders now (not all to clients, mostly to me) and they have delivered 2 different orders in such a way that they came completely bent. This is NO WAY TO DO BUSINESS. I have made every effort when it did effect my clients to make it up to them ~ but I'm tired of taking responsibility for a labs shotty business standards. So, sorry guys - but I'm done with you.
Onto bigger and better things...anyone have a lab that they LOVE? I'm on the hunt.
In other news, still putting together my images for the Highlands Ranch High School's Photography Fair. Should be a ton of fun. And with Tim with me, I will be twice as confident on a successful outcome.
I am loving the images from Kyle and Nick's senior shoot - one of my favorites is the one of Nick in front of a store's sign that says "Vanity" - can't help but to love a little irony :)
